Trupanion Pet Insurance
There are many pet insurance companies.  It is best to insure your pet young.  None of the companies cover pre-existing conditions.  Do your research on deductibles and maximum coverage.  Trupanion will pay your vet directly if they are a participating vet.  They offer no lifetime maximum on coverage and deductibles are paid per diagnosis not per year which saves money when you have a chronic illness or an issue that requires follow up visits or medication.  Follow-ups are included in the initial claim, so you pay one deductible.  Some companies offer wellness riders that work like a flexible health savings account.  Typically it is not worth paying extra to have well visits and preventative medications covered.  Trupanion is designed for emergency and illness.

Other reputable pet insurance companies include Healthy Paws.  Here is a comparison of Trupanion and Healthy Paws so you can select a pet insurance that is best for you.
